Well Wednesday sees the closest event to a revision of the work we have done so far this semester. Hmmmm, I realise this is not a bad thing and for some strange reason I'm not feeling uneasy or stressed about it. I look at the image and see the person who is surrounded by books is actually smiling, is this for real? I will answer yes, this is very real. I have always wondered what it’s like to just continually immerse you in reading and wow it’s awesome. Sure TV and pictures are great, but for the better part they are void of imagination and stimuli. Things such as documentaries, movies and educational are worth wile provided they have essences to them. So going past wondering I decided to take part in this reading phenomenon, I have bought my self some books, borrowed some more, checked out heaps of stuff on the net and I don't think I have had so much go through my head for quite some time. What has been a blessing in disguise is that I'm living in a residence with fellow uni students who share similar sediments but what really is the best part, is that we don't have a television. Peculiar yes but boring far from it. I now have not been connected to a TV set for about 6 or so weeks and the results although small ones at present are surprising me. For example I'm only listening to AM radio [by choice] and some select FM. I'm re-visiting all the classical folk songs I had grown up with and Genres that accounted for the 50's 60's and a bit of the 70's. Can I recommend for AM listening 693 and for FM Listening the ABC and PBS FM I recently purchased a record player and some jazz festival recording compilations, this is some awesome stuff. Symphony is to follow so back to the review. Nah I’ll post about it a bit later. I’m having too much fun sharing my activities of late. I have also been doing allot more cooking for myself due to uni student budget and my rejection of McDonalds [this will be another story soon to follow]. I have always loved cooking but avoided it for reasons of time and effort. The answer, get a bottle of wine[be sensible and put some of it in your meal] wait till your family, roommates [invite someone]are at home and watch slowly how you all gravitate to the kitchen and exchange stories while having some wine. In no time at all your meal is ready, your sitting down enjoying some damm fine food; like spinach and ricotta pasta bake with roast pumpkin or wine marinated muscles [ I don't eat seafood] I think I really missed a good opportunity here, so I might try seafood again, hmmmm just keep the wine coming.... Moving On, I guess what I’m trying to say here is, with all that you have ever planned to do with your time, it really works when you don't think about it and just leap straight on into it. If you want to think about it, do it as a reflective process this will blow your mind. You’ll feel so enriched for it and thirsty to do so much more. I think now I’m looking at going to some theatre production or a good walk maybe a day trip determined by where the train lines go and yeah I’ll let you know. Hell if you want, join me or give me some ideas.
